I'm an independent worker. I hold no degree that could vouch for my knowledge in computing, but I've been behind a keyboard since '95. My first Linux distribution was RedHat, then within three months I moved to Slackware, which I lived with for about thirteen years. At some point I built Sflack — Slackware Linux in pure 64-bit, with no multi-lib. Later, for lack of time and for convenience, I switched to Debian. Today I work in front of an iMac, I have a family, and I do something else entirely.
That «something else» is this: I build systems. On one side the infrastructure — clusters, networks, mail servers, storage — self-hosted so I understand it all the way down; my servers carry the names of stars. On the other, applied AI: agents, fine-tuning, pipelines that do real work, not demos.
I've written on this domain for over ten years. At first they were sysadmin notes — you can still find them in the archive. Today I build far more than I document, and the Lab is the cure: an honest journal of the projects in progress, wrong decisions included.
# philosophy: the logic lives in deterministic code. The LLM decides, it doesn't execute.
